April
On the hottest days in April, the boys enjoyed playing with their squirt guns. Braden just loves anything having to do with water and spent most of the time playing with a bucket of "agua".
Ryan has been busy drawing and mailing pictures to many members of our extended family. He loves getting replies in the mail from them. After his nap everyday, he gets his shoes on and runs out to look for mail. Here he is with his first received letter from Uncle Nene.
One of our 30+ft. pine trees died recently and had to be cut down. Believe it or not, I have pictures of this same tree during the blizzard - and it was beautiful! It was almost overnight that it just DIED....green to brown, just like that.
It left a 10ft. circle of pine needles that needed to be bagged. The boys loved working with their tools to "help" Tony. We're still debating on what to do with this new yard space.
Saturdays are really fun for us - Ryan's soccer team is really fun to watch! Starting two weeks ago, the kids started playing each other in a soccer "game" at the end of practice. Ryan got 2 goals during the first week and 3 last Saturday. Go Team, Go!
Ryan stayed busy for quite awhile planting the seeds for our summer garden. He was charged with placing 3 seeds in each of 65 sections....one plant type per row. We are looking forward to having a lot of cucumbers, zucchini, squash, tomatoes and cantaloupe. My peppers seem to be MIA...must have got a pack of dead seeds.
Braden and I worked on the remaining 13 plants. He planted the zucchini seeds as they were the biggest in our mix. (Ryan took this picture. It's nice to have pics of me even when Tony isn't around!)
On the way to the zoo this weekend, I rescued a turtle that was trying to merge onto Rte. 28. Ryan named the little guy "Hooty". Hooty lived with us for awhile and provided hours of entertainment...even though he did not do much!
Braden and Ryan love to keep a close watch on our plants...which are a lot larger now. (Note dead Chia pet in the corner. More on that later....)
