Sentences

Expanding vocabularies are fun...but dangerous! I have heard that some by age two, toddlers are supposed to say some 300+ words. Several parents in the office that have kept lists of the words their children say each month to up to age 3 to make sure their childresn stay on track. With Ryan's "monkey-see, monkey-do" spirit, I just don't have time to do this... I would have to carry a pen and paper in my pocket. I figure - he knows a lot...and he keeps learning...and so that is good enough. But, I digress...Sentences was the name of this entry, wasn't it?

So, with the expanding vocab, he is now combining words to make up his own versions of sentences. I guess a part of me would hope that his senteces would reflect some type of pre-school type education...for example, "Look at the big, blue bird." ...a sentence with adjectives, color recognition, animal recognition, etc. Or maybe "I see three yellow apples." But then, reality sets in big time when some of his most complicated word combinations are as follows:

Scenario: We are playing around and wrestling in bed: "Mama, no bite Yi-yan's toes! Bad mama"

Scenario: Tony is cleaning the yard before he mows. Sentence: "Papa cleans Lavars poop. Pee-u!"

Scenario: He notices a piece of missing molding. 'Oh, man! Papa! Come, fix it! Work! Work!"

So, maybe the problem is the scenarios he is in?? All for a good laugh :-)
